Hello! We are the Kendricks – two people who love to have all kinds of fun adventures! We got married in 2010 and have been living the good life together ever since. We are both engineers (yes, we’re a little nerdy) and we really love to travel to new places and experience new things. We are always up for trying new foods, meeting new people, and exploring some of the coolest places on Earth! We started this blog so we could share our fun adventures and hopefully inspire you to take some of your own!
Our story? Well, we met in differential equations while studying at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA (Ryan majored in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Erin majored in Mechanical Engineering). We became best friends over the years, eventually fell head over heels in love, and got married a couple years after graduation. Both of us had done quite a bit of traveling on our own – between the two of us, we had been to nearly every continent before we were 25 (only missing South America and Antarctica). We truly love it and started traveling even more together – always having an absolute blast!
We both work for the same company and they approached us to take an overseas assignment to work in one of the shipyards in Korea. We didn’t even have to think twice and said: Definitely! So, we packed up and shipped out to Asia and lived in Geoje, South Korea for 2 years. We really enjoyed our time in Korea – we found the culture fascinating and the people to be wonderful! Working in a shipyard was one of those unforgettable life experiences where we learned a lot and saw some amazing things! We also got to travel all over Asia which was such a fantastic experience! Our journey will now take us to far East Russia where we will be rotating offshore for the next year…should be full of more interesting and exciting adventures!
As a side project, I’ve also started featuring some truly wonderful females whose careers are in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields – we all share the same goal…share our stories in hopes that it inspires others to follow in our footsteps and we increase the number of women in STEM careers! You can check out their stories (as well as some of mine about working in a shipyard) here.
We hope you will enjoy all of our stories and pictures and will have some crazy adventures of your own! If you want to contact us, email me here: email@example.com
